Wesley is 6! He kept having to remind me that is turning 6 and not 5!! We decided to do Wesley's birthday party on Sunday the 17th since the weather was going to be nice and warm. On Wesley's birthday we still did a little family birthday party with a confetti cake, ice cream and dinner at Red Robin. Wesley loved being the birthday boy. He called himself that all day.
A few things about Wesley:
-He LOVES to collect thing. Especially anything small. He has his "special box" that he carries around the house filled with rocks, marbles and random trinkets. He is always on the lookout for cool new things. He esecially loves anything shiny and sparkly!! He also collects keychains and recently started collecting Garbage Pail Kids he loves that too!
-He is our easiest child to get to bed. He still bonks his head on his pillow to put himself to sleep.
-He loves school and has lots of friends. His teacher is Mr. Wright.
-He still loves to be called "Wetzels Pretzels" If I go too long without calling him that he will remind me that he likes to be called that.
-Wesley is very sensitive. He loves to hear people around him speak nice. He always tells me that he loves the way I talk to Sadie (baby talk.) He is very kind and caring and even won an award for that at school! When he was in Preschool Ms. Carolyn would say he has a 'tender heart' that is a good way to put it!
-He makes a "CH" sound when a word starts with T. Logan and I love it! "Please don't CHOUCH my toys!"
-Wesley is our movie/TV show quoter. He is often making us laugh quoting different movies and TV shows. He has been doing this for a long time!
-He is a picky eater- has lots of things he won't eat. Oranges being one of them, the white stuff makes him gag!
-When he gets excited he does a very crazy happy dance! We've never seen dance moves like him!!
The other day he bought some PEZ refills with his Birthday money. The Hills were at our house. He quietly filled each of his Star Wars PEZ dispensers with the PEZ he bought. Then he handed them out for everyone to enjoy. He is such a sweetheart!

A good day!
Today was a great day. Many days I feel so discouraged but today was great! Baylor came home with his homework finished... he did it on the bus! WHAT? Then Wesley came through the door with an award for being 'Caring and Compassionate' it had a purple ribbon and was signed by the principle. He was pretty excited about this and so were we! He loves school. Then Baylor, at 7:00 put himself to bed and fell asleep! Tonight when I was putting Bentley to bed he was being so sweet. He is always pretty sweet to me. He was saying 'You a sweetie Mommy!' and 'You my best mommy!' He was giving me tons of hugs and kisses and making me feel so loved. While I was reading a book to Wesley he had his arm around me and his cheek against mine. I could feel his cute little body in his footie pjs leaned up on me and it was just so cute. I wish I could just capture his sweetness and have it last forever. And then there is Sadie. So tiny and sweet. I feel so blessed!

20.6 inches long
We are so happy our baby girl is here! On December 29th we got up bright and early and left for the hospital at 6:30 AM. We checked in and got settled in our room right away. Logan and I were so tired we both dozed off in the room while we waited. My IV went in so good so that was awesome... we were off to a good start! At 10:00 AM we headed off to the O.R. Everything was going well until it came time to pull her out. Dr. Higgins announced when she opened up my uterus. The anesthesiologist started timing at this point. When it comes time to pull the baby out they always warn me that there will be a lot of pressure. It is a strange feeling! Well, they told me I was going to feel pressure... and I did... for FOUR MINUTES! With my other C-Sections the baby came out right away- but not this time. Dr. Higgins said her head was stuck on the side of my Uterus and she was 'very active' twisting and turning and they could not get her out! They were grunting and pulling.. and I could feel the pulling big time. My body was moving all over the place and it felt like someone was pulling out my insides! (No pain of course, just a strange pulling pressure) Everyone in the room started to seem panicked. Logan and I were just looking at each other in dis-belief. We couldn't believe this was happening. Extra NICU people came in and they warned me that when they did get her out they were going to have to immediately give her to the NICU. When they finally got her out (after four minutes) she looked lifeless. She did not cry... for awhile. We were so scared that she was not alive. My head was behind the curtain so I couldn't see anything. I just kept asking, 'Is she alive?' "Is she gonna be okay?" Her APGAR score was a 2 (very low!) but the NICU nurses brought her up to an 8 and she was fine! What a scary experience- especially considering she was a C-Section! We felt so much joy when we finally got to hold her in our arms. The first thing Logan said was that she looked like her brothers. A pretty girl version of course. :)
We are so in love with our Sadie May!
Amy Morgan came in and took pictures of Sadie's first bath, and the boys meeting her for the first time. This was about 2 hours after her birth.
