Wesley is 6!

Wesley is 6! He kept having to remind me that is turning 6 and not 5!! We decided to do Wesley's birthday party on Sunday the 17th since the weather was going to be nice and warm. On Wesley's birthday we still did a little family birthday party with a confetti cake, ice cream and dinner at Red Robin. Wesley loved being the birthday boy. He called himself that all day.

A few things about Wesley:

-He LOVES to collect thing. Especially anything small. He has his "special box" that he carries around the house filled with rocks, marbles and random trinkets. He is always on the lookout for cool new things. He esecially loves anything shiny and sparkly!! He also collects keychains and recently started collecting Garbage Pail Kids he loves that too!

-He is our easiest child to get to bed. He still bonks his head on his pillow to put himself to sleep.

-He loves school and has lots of friends. His teacher is Mr. Wright.

-He still loves to be called "Wetzels Pretzels" If I go too long without calling him that he will remind me that he likes to be called that.

-Wesley is very sensitive. He loves to hear people around him speak nice. He always tells me that he loves the way I talk to Sadie (baby talk.) He is very kind and caring and even won an award for that at school! When he was in Preschool Ms. Carolyn would say he has a 'tender heart' that is a good way to put it!

-He makes a "CH" sound when a word starts with T. Logan and I love it! "Please don't CHOUCH my toys!"

-Wesley is our movie/TV show quoter. He is often making us laugh quoting different movies and TV shows. He has been doing this for a long time!

-He is a picky eater- has lots of things he won't eat. Oranges being one of them, the white stuff makes him gag!

-When he gets excited he does a very crazy happy dance! We've never seen dance moves like him!!

The other day he bought some PEZ refills with his Birthday money. The Hills were at our house. He quietly filled each of his Star Wars PEZ dispensers with the PEZ he bought. Then he handed them out for everyone to enjoy. He is such a sweetheart!

Bentley's 3rd Birthday

Bentley decided he wanted a Spongebob Birthday MONTHS before his birthday. He didn’t call it a Spongebob party though, he called it his ‘crabby patty’ birthday. He would talk about it all the time!
The day finally arrived. He was so cute he loved his cake, he was happy to see me working on it during the day. He brothers went to ‘Lego Camp’ so him and I went to Menchies. It was fun to be there just me and him.
We invited all of our family for his crabby patty birthday. The James’ arrived into town earlier that day so it was great to have them at the party too! Brooklyn asked Bentley what kind of birthday his party was and he responded ‘mine!’
Of course he loved ALL of his gifts and tried to cram as many as he could into his crib at night. When I tucked him in he said ‘You made me a hamburger cake!’ I thought it was so sweet that he brought that up. He really liked his party. We love him so much. He is such a special part of your family. He makes us laugh all day long with his funny things he says and does. We just love his bright blonde hair and huge smile. He is such a sweetie!
He holds the key to my heart!

This cake was fun to make!
Logan behind the grill making the Crabby Pattys!

Baylor's 7th Birthday

Can't believe our baby is SEVEN! Baylor has been talking about his worm cake for months and months. He insisted that the cake had worms inside and out! So we put worms between each of the layers. He also had a boom box pinata at this party. That is always a big hit!

7-UP filled with cash from Grandpa and Grandma May!
Baylor and MaryLeigh love to play together. Baylor is always asking for her to come over and stay the night!

Baylor was over-the-moon excited about his Creature from the Black Lagoon toy from Dad. He didn't ask for it, but Logan always knows what he will like!!!

Before his party- Baylor, Logan and Wesley went to Baylor's school for the showcase night. Baylor had his big 'Monster' project on Display. I love that he is wearing socks with his Vans. This would have never happened had I taken him! ;)

A few things about Baylor at age 7:

He loves to collect Garbage Pail Kid cards, Goosebumps books and any toy that is scary or creepy! He loves collecting things.

He has literally drawn THOUSANDS of monsters in the last seven years. He is always coming up with new designs and can draw them for hours. He loves to write books about them.

His favorite foods are hard boiled eggs, cheeseburgers, Ravioli and strawberries.

Baylor is a NIGHT OWL! He is usually the last to fall asleep (of the kids) and if given the opportunity to sleep in, he will be the last to get up.

Baylor is the BEST at catching our bunny Cupcake. We will let him run around the yard and Baylor is the only one that can get him back in his cage!

He loves movie nights with Dad.

He loves to steal my phone and make VERY silly videos.

He still says 'Dane it' instead of Dang it. Now Logan and I say it that way too... and Wesley too.

Baylor is always super sweet at night and always says the best prayers. He loves family night and always reminds us that we need to do it. He does a great job answering questions.

We love Baylor so much and are so thankful everyday to have him for our son!

Wesley's 5th 'Shark' Birthday

As always, Wesley picked his birthday theme months in advance. He had been asking for months to have Avin at his party- so we did his party a couple weeks in advance while the James were in town. We had another Birthday celebration with my family on his actual birthday. Lucky boy got TWO shark birthday parties!!!!

He was one happy birthday boy!!

A few things about Wesley at age 5:

Wesley LOVES to give compliments. He constantly telling me he loves me, that I'm 'beautiful', 'gorgeous' and the 'best Mom ever' He is so so sweet!

Wesley loves to make new friends. We will go to the park and he will say, 'I hope I make some new friends!' He considers pretty much anyone he's around his friend. He loves to see his friends at Preschool too.

Wesley loves to be called by his nicknames, his favorite is 'Wetzel's Pretzels' I also call him Wessie woo whoo!

Wesley still 'bonks' his head to fall asleep. He has been doing this his entire life and now talks about how he loves to do it! He does it in the car too. He will ask permission if other people around bc he doesn't wanna bother anyone.

He still says 'Fing' for the word 'Thing' I don't ever want him to say it correctly. It's too cute!

Wesley and Bentley play SO good together. They will play for hours- he will usually do what Bentley wants to do. They love to play stuffed animals together. They will gather up all the stuffed animals and haul them around the house.

When Wesley gets excited he will start doing a really spastic happy dance! It is adorable.

We call Wesley our 'cereal boy' He LOVES to eat Cereal! He could eat it for every meal if we would let him!

Wesley is very sensitive. He is a peacemaker and gets along well with almost everyone. He is truly a blessing in our home and we are thankful every day that he is in our family!!!

Baylor is 6

Baylor is 6! We have been VERY busy around here! He decided two days before his birthday that he wanted a Godzilla party with his friends. We were going to just do a family party, but my friend Debbie informed me that her son Dane came home with a hand-written party invite from Baylor. She didn't know if it was a real invite or not so she asked me. Apparently he had handed out a few of those so I figured why not just do a friend party instead if that's what he really wants! It was all very last minute but it all worked out! Of course they don't have any Godzilla party supplies at the store so we had to figure out a way to do it. I made a banner in photoshop and Logan painted a big Godzilla poster. His art skills really come in handy!
The wind was blowing so he had to pretend to blow
out the candles!
I obviously really WAS loosing my mind... I only put four candles on his cake. The saddest part, it didn't even click that that was wrong until the party was over! I'm surprised Baylor didn't say anything!

Checking out his new garbage pail kids from Oliver.

After Logan got home from work we sang to him and had him BLOW out his candles... 6 of them! I saved the gifts from us for when Logan got home. We gave Baylor something he REALLY wanted.....
I love that I captured his reaction! The 'FIRST EVER' hardcover Goosebumps book! Baylor LOVES Goosebumps books even thought he can't read them. He just loves the scary covers and he loves to carry them around. Oh and he sleeps with them!

Baylor was one happy birthday boy! We love him so much!!!!

May the 4th be with you!

We celebrated Wesley's 4th Birthday. He is our little Star Wars boy. He has been hauling around Logan's old Star Wars toys in his hands for who knows how long!
There are NO WORDS for how much I love this little boy. He is SO snuggly and sweet. He tells me I'm Pretty and Beautiful all.day.long.  I'm not sure if he even knows what that means, but he knows I like hearing it so he keeps saying it. It's funny because anytime I get mad at him he will come back with, 'Mom I said your pretty!' He cracks me up. :)

We have had a sugar cookie obsession lately. Logan and I made these Star Wars cookies the night before. Now anytime I make cookies Wesley expects them to be Star Wars cookies.

It was a fun night, and as always Wesley was an adorable little Birthday boy!

Lucky In Love

I was called to be in charge of the Relief Society Activities in my ward. For our first activity of the year we decided to do an activity all about LOVE. (Strengthening your relationship with your spouse and other loved ones.) It was February so I was in the mood for hearts!... But the activity was in March. SO I tied in the two and called it 'Lucky in Love.' I was happy with how it all came together.
Half of the tables had a 'Lucky' theme...
and the others had a 'LOVE' theme! Pink and green (and gold) were the colors. I am fond of that color combination (Those were my wedding colors.)

Since the activity was all about LOVE I interviewed a bunch of women in our ward and asked them questions about their spouse- how they met, and stuff like that. I also collected pictures of everyone with their spouse when they were dating. I think the movie turned out super cute. It took me a LONG LONG LONG time to make but I was happy with the outcome! Since we were watching a movie I thought it would be fun to have popcorn.

Danielle made this cute popcorn and found the cutest popcorn containers. I was so excited!

Since it was a LUCKY theme I figured we better have a few prizes!! For a handout we made scratch-its for each person and them attached to a bag of chocolate hearts. We had a few prizes, Lucky Charms and a couple boxes of chocolates.
After the movie we had two people speak. Christy Dustin spoke on keeping the 'spark' alive in your marriage and Kendall spoke about the different Love languages. Both of them did awesome! It turned out to be a fun night!
