Witch's Night Out

My friend Amy does a Witch's night out every year. Every year it has grown more and more. This was my 4th year and it was FABULOUS! She hosted it at our friend Stacey's house.  There were so many people and the witch costumes were incredible. Every year it keeps getting better.

Sauvie Island

Logan took the day off of work yesterday so that we could go to Sauvie Island. It was probably the most gorgeous day we've had all month, it could not have worked out better. We love going on a weekday because it is not too busy. The boys had a blast.

Wesley wasn't so sure about the hay pyramid at first, but he warmed up quickly! He even got brave enough to crawl in the tunnels. That scared me though! At one point he got scared, stopped right in the middle and clogged the whole thing. I could hear other kids saying 'excuse me' but of course he didn't understand that! I was about to go in after him, but he made it out. I was glad I probably would have gotten stuck!
One of my favorite pictures of the day, I love my little man!

We took the hayride out to the pumpkin patch.

The cutest little boys in the whole world (according to me!)
This was one of my favorite days this year.
WE LOVE YOU SAUVIE ISLAND!♥

Portland Marathon

Four years ago I ripped a 'beginner marathon training plan' out of a Runner's World Magazine and tucked it away in the back of my journal. I'd see it there and sometimes laugh at myself for I thinking at one point that I was capable of doing it... But this year I decided I was and I did it! I didn't look into any other Marathons. The only one I've had a desire to run is Portland.
I love this city, I didn't want to do it anywhere else!
It was an incredible experience that I really can't put into words. I thought it would be torture, and the night before I was awake ALL night until 3:15 AM regretting that I ever signed up. However, to my surprise I enjoyed almost every minute of it. It was just so exciting being there with thousands of other people that shared the same goal as I did. The weather was nice and cool which is what I prefer. It rained for about 10 miles but I thought it was refreshing! There was so much support from people along the sides, just reading their signs kept me entertained.

This picture was taken about half a mile before the finish. My Mom said it looked like I was smiling as I ran past them. I probably was. Even though it was fun, I was so happy to almost be done!

Before the race I gave my Mom my number so that she could track me online. Because of the chip on my shoe she was able to look me up and see where I was and how fast I was running. As I was running I loved knowing that my Mom was watching me.
My Dad is an amazing runner. A few years ago he trained so hard (much better then I ever did) and came really close to being able to run this, and then he got an injury. There are so many things that can hold you back from a run like this and I lucked out that I didn't hurt myself or get sick!!
Thank you Mom, Dad and Logan for fighting the crowds and coming down to see me at the end!
I love you guys!!!!!!!!!
When I got home, we pulled up to this! Two of my very good friends left me with flowers, a gift basket and these adorable decorations. I am so lucky to have such good friends.
Thanks you guys!!! I Will definitely be doing this again but probably not for awhile!!!

Our Chickens

Back in April we went to Wilco in Battle Ground and picked up four baby chicks. Logan's family raised chickens when they were little and Grandma and Grandpa May still have lots of chickens. Our kids love them. We wanted some of our own!

Aren't they so cute? I wish they stayed small longer! We kept them in our garage until they got too tall and then they moved into Verne's chicken coop for several months while Logan and Verne built the chicken coop. It took awhile for Logan to start... and I was starting to wonder if the chickens would ever come back to our house. But they did!
September 6th we got them back!

Logan and Verne built this awesome chicken coop.
It drew quite the crowd when they brought it.

We love our chickens! They are the best pet. They require very little work and they are so entertaining to watch. We love to feed them our scraps. We can even watch them from inside which is fun too.

Tonight was the first day that we let them into our yard. We will do this every once in awhile until we get our chicken run set up on our side yard. Verne told us they would march right up into their coop once it got dark and sure enough they did. It was fun to watch!

Idaho & Utah Roadtrip

The day after Logan's 28th birthday, we took a road trip down to Idaho Falls (and Utah after that!). We met up with my parents and Mackenzie to visit the Hirschis. Two of my cousins are still at home, my cousin Lexie lives close by and my cousin Brianne drove home from Provo. The only one missing was my cousin Brittany and her fam who are in Virginia! We missed you Brittany!
This was on our first night, Nanette and the boys hanging out on the back porch.
On our second day we went to Lava Hot Springs. Baylor and Wesley pretty much swam the whole time. I especially love swimming with Wesley. He is such a water baby!

As kids we would always go to places like these together. Felt like old times waiting in line for the water slides!!

We had quite the set up with the tents and lots of food!
Lexie and Wesley
The next day we went to the Lake to swim and ride the wave runners. Nanette was afraid the boys might be bored but they were in HEAVEN with the water, rocks and sand.
They kept busy the whole time!!!
My Dad and Val came as twins! How cute :)

1-2-3 JUMP! The water was cold but felt SO GOOD! I even got Baylor to swim with me he liked it!

A perfect, fun day in the sun!!

Nanette and my Mom left on two wave runners and came back on one. I didn't think anything of it at first! One broke down, figures that would happen while they were out! haha! That was the end of our wave running fun for the day.

We visited Landon at work, Baskin Robbins.
I loved my Daiquiri Ice!
It was sooooo much fun visiting the Hirschi's. We stayed up late play Just Dance, talking and snacking. I'm so glad we were able to come. Thanks Nanette!!!!!

After 3 days in Idaho Falls, we headed out to Roy.
Heidi and I wanted to try some of the recipes we found on Pinterest! Here's me and True working on the Chocolate Chip Cookie Cheesecake bars... they were good!
I don't think a day has gone by since last Summer that Baylor did not talk about the Dinosaur Park. This is like Disneyland to him. This is little boy heaven!! Logan's cousin Morgan and his wife Melanie and kids were able to come down from Provo to visit for the day and join us at the Dino Park. It was awesome!

I think this was new this year. Cute photo opp! Also, they added a big sand area for digging for fossils. That was fun too!

It is a MUST to get a picture by the big T-Rex!

We were in Utah for two days. The other day we did, in Heidi's words, some "Serious Shopping." It was awesome!!! We always have the best time visiting the James' and it is icing on the cake when we get to see Morgan and his family too.
This was the perfect ending to our Summer!

Goodbye Casey

My big brother Casey made the
crazy decision to take a job that moved him here:
Chicago! What the heck.
That is so Casey to do something like that!!!
Me and my family aren't too happy about it, but he seems to be having a blast so we are happy that he is happy there.
We miss him a lot though!

We had a little going away party for him at my house.
My family and the Palmers came over to say goodbye.
After the crowd left me, Casey and Ryan sat down for one last game of Settlers of Catan.

Me and my good friend Tamera Palmer. She is married to Casey's Best Friend Ryan who we've known forever and ever from Moses Lake.
Baylor LOVES his uncles 'Caseys' Nobody can get him wound up as fast as Casey can!

Casey,Ryan,Tamera and Kash.

Not the best picture but we had to get one before he left. He's not gone for too long though, he will be back for Christmas and Thanksgiving... thank goodness!
 We miss you Casey!!
