BEE Happy

For the second Releif Society activity  that I planned, my commitee and I did a 'BEE Happy theme.' The Happy song was on the radio all the time and it got me in the mood to do something cheerful! We did a Cafe Rio style dinner where people volunteered to bring different fixins. We had three people speak briefly about different aspects of happiness- CHOOSING to be happy, taking time for your self and taking care of yourself, and Serving others. The three people that spoke did a fabulous job! Afterwards we did an activity where everyone shared something that makes them happy. Everyone brought an item to represent what that is. It was fun to see what everyone brought and it was a great way to get to know everyone better. I thought it turned out to be a fun, HAPPY night!

Lucky In Love

I was called to be in charge of the Relief Society Activities in my ward. For our first activity of the year we decided to do an activity all about LOVE. (Strengthening your relationship with your spouse and other loved ones.) It was February so I was in the mood for hearts!... But the activity was in March. SO I tied in the two and called it 'Lucky in Love.' I was happy with how it all came together.
Half of the tables had a 'Lucky' theme...
and the others had a 'LOVE' theme! Pink and green (and gold) were the colors. I am fond of that color combination (Those were my wedding colors.)

Since the activity was all about LOVE I interviewed a bunch of women in our ward and asked them questions about their spouse- how they met, and stuff like that. I also collected pictures of everyone with their spouse when they were dating. I think the movie turned out super cute. It took me a LONG LONG LONG time to make but I was happy with the outcome! Since we were watching a movie I thought it would be fun to have popcorn.

Danielle made this cute popcorn and found the cutest popcorn containers. I was so excited!

Since it was a LUCKY theme I figured we better have a few prizes!! For a handout we made scratch-its for each person and them attached to a bag of chocolate hearts. We had a few prizes, Lucky Charms and a couple boxes of chocolates.
After the movie we had two people speak. Christy Dustin spoke on keeping the 'spark' alive in your marriage and Kendall spoke about the different Love languages. Both of them did awesome! It turned out to be a fun night!

Testimonies and Tiaras

The Stake asked me to decorate for their Standards night this year. The theme was 'Testimonies & Tiaras.' They needed the gym decorated and they specifically said they wanted the 'Wow Factor.' This assignment scared me to death because I have never been in charge of decorating anything big. I have assisted, but never been in charge. I formed a committee which included the same ladies I did the Vegas party with, Becca, Cami and Kendall. We have so much fun together and we work well together. I also got a lot of help from other friends and family. Thank goodness for friends and family! This project was very time consuming but so much fun. I couldn't pass up an opportunity to decorate with pink and tutus!!

I didn't do the food, but it was so pretty I had to take pictures!! I loved these lips Straws too.

The program was AWESOME! This event was about missionary work. They talked about how preparing for a Mission and preparing for a pageant has some 'Strinking' similarities. They had video clips from a pageant coach giving advice for pageants. Each of the Sister Missionaries walked down the runway to music. They each had a sash with the state they are from. They had to answer questions, just like girls do in pageants. There were so many cute things they did to tie in the pageant theme. It was so much fun!! When all was said and done I was glad that I was given the opportunity to be a part of such an incredible event!
Cami made all of these black frames. We framed a picture and a quote from each of the Sister Missionaries serving from our Stake. There were 16!
Me and my Committee, minus Cami Dean. During the program Heidi Parker had us come up. She thanked us for our hard work and 'crowned' us!
