Cruisin'

Logan gave me part 2 of my birthday present today. (Part one was the Rascal Flatt's new CD which I totally love.) He bought me this adorable beach cruiser bike! I never asked for one, nor did I ever say I wanted one so it was a total surprise. I absolutely love it though. It's my new favorite thing. I feel like a kid again when I ride it. My Mom and sister came over and I made them try it out. They liked it.

We rode over to Chevron and shared an ICEE.
Logan likes to take Baylor on the 'jumps' by our house. Baylor smiles and giggles while they go down. He loves them. I on the other hand get freaked out and I almost crashed last time I tried. I'm not taking my new bike on them that's for sure.

Backtracking

Okay I wanted to post about these cute little babies sooner, but I am a little behind!
I had to get my hands on the pictures!
Anyways, Baylor is no longer the ONLY grandchild on my side of the family...
Kyle and Hailee welcomed their son Oliver into the world on June 21st (father's day!) He is a cutie and I just love him!
As for the May family, Baylor is no longer the YOUNGEST grandchild. Heidi and Ryan welcomed their little baby boy Avin into their family on July 1st! This is their third July baby! He is so cute and I can't wait to see him in person and snuggle him in just two days! (We are going to Utah.)

We ended up going on a last minute road trip to Farewell Bend Oregon last weekend for the Porter May Family Reunion. On the way there we stopped somewhere in the middle of nowhere to pick up a trash can that someone (who shall remain nameless) left at the Trek. It was a bit out of the way but we got to see where our stake's 'Trek' was. Very nice!
It was really really hot and muggy in Farewell Bend. I couldn't even sleep in my sleeping bag at night because it was so stinkin' hot!!

Baylor getting acquainted with his second cousin.

I really enjoyed meeting everyone, and Logan enjoyed catching up!!

Baylor was nestled in the back seat with all our stuff.
This was his first long road trip and he actually did really well!
Thanks for the fun weekend May Family!

Lastly, I turned 24 last week. Logan and I enjoyed a quiet dinner with just the two of us at Mama Mia in downtown Portland. It was wonderful!

Race, Pool, Food & Fireworks

This year the Fourth of July was AWESOME!

We started the morning out by getting up at 5:00 AM and running the Sauvie Island Half Marathon. The race started at 7:00.. I thought we'd beat the heat but by the second half of the race it started getting really hot. Overall the race was really fun!
Sauvie Island is beautiful!!!
This is me with my sister-in-law Lindsi. I ran the race with her and our friend Rebecca Lacher. My goal for the race was to 'Keep up with Lindsi.' I did for the most part finishing about 40 seconds behind her. I fought a good fight! My finish time was 1:58.21- I finished under two hours.. YAY!

Logan and Baylor crawled out of bed early to get to the race. Baylor was CRANKY! I didn't get the family picture I wanted...
After I attempted a nap (it didn't happen) we headed over to the May's for the Pool Party. We enjoyed the company of the Dyer's and LOTS and LOTS of FOOD!
I love this little guy.
LaurieAnn, Rebecca, Me & Callie.
Logan catching up with his friend Scott.
Enjoying some of Lindsi's Strawberry Rhubarb Pie.
Holy Fireworks!
For the past few years we have all met at the May's neighbor's home to watch the fireworks. TONS of families get together and pitch in fireworks and desserts. After a perfect day it was so fun to get all settled with our camping chairs and a bowl of homemade ice cream to watch fireworks.
At first Baylor was scared of the fireworks, but then he got used to them and liked them! He even clapped a few times!!! He eventually fell asleep.. I don't know how.
The firework show was AMAZING!
We enjoyed every second of it.
I'm so glad we have the fourth of July to celebrate this country and our freedom!!

{Sensibly Styled}

My good friend Natalie called me awhile ago with a great idea that she had... to start a website that funnels all the cute modest clothes available online into one spot! I thought it was a great idea so I told her I wanted in on it!!!

Natalie's talented husband put the site together and Natalie has received help from several friends putting the whole thing together. What I have done is help browse the internet for clothes and post them on the site. I love shopping so..It has been a lot of fun so far.. and I am discovering that there is tons of cute stuff out there once I look! (More then I ever knew..)

So check out the site and let me know what you think!!! We are still in the process of getting it all put together but we are ready to get the word out. We are hoping to create a great resource for women to find cute, modest clothes!

The One With the Giant Poking Device

I love my husband! When there is a job to be done, he does it. I love that about him. He noticed some shoes caught up on the light post in front of our house and decided they must come down. He was outside for awhile and I was wondering what he was doing. I figured he was watering the grass but nope... he created a giant pole and got those shoes down. I love it.
p.s. does anyone know where I got the title of this post?

{I ♥ Digital Scrapbooking}

Scrapbooking has been a hobby for me for about 10 years. I LOVE it! My sister in law Lindsi taught me how to use photoshop and do digital scrapbooking and now I love it even more! (Thanks again Lindsi!!!)

I have been working diligently on my scrapbook for the past few months and I finally completed, ordered and received my first TWO digital scrapbooks!
(A Family book and a Baylor book.)
I like to keep my pages pretty simple.
My photoshop skills are limited but I know enough to get the job done.
Here are a few pages:

I have made a lot of pages like this.. I make a collage in picasa (which is totally easy) and then add some words and voila! Super easy!

Just because it is digital doesn't mean you can't still include your 'scraps' in your scrapbook. In these pages I scanned my sonogram pictures of Baylor, my baby shower invitation, and Baylor's blessing certificate!

As you can probably tell I totally love digital scrapbooking!

Here's why...
-NO MESS!
-You don't have to order prints or shop for supplies. You can take pictures and scrapbook them that same day!
-The books take up WAY less space
-You can find FREE supplies online (my favorite source is raspberrypatch.blogspot.com)
-You can make a page and use it in several different books. (I made a family book and Baylor's book using most of the same pages.)
-You don't have to worry about your handwriting so it is easy to do a lot of journaling!
-It's really fun!!!
