Sadie Michelle May

Sadie Michelle May
December 29th 2015
7 lbs 13 oz
20.6 inches long
We are so happy our baby girl is here! On December 29th we got up bright and early and left for the hospital at 6:30 AM. We checked in and got settled in our room right away. Logan and I were so tired we both dozed off in the room while we waited. My IV went in so good so that was awesome... we were off to a good start! At 10:00 AM we headed off to the O.R. Everything was going well until it came time to pull her out. Dr. Higgins announced when she opened up my uterus. The anesthesiologist started timing at this point. When it comes time to pull the baby out they always warn me that there will be a lot of pressure. It is a strange feeling! Well, they told me I was going to feel pressure... and I did... for FOUR MINUTES! With my other C-Sections the baby came out right away- but not this time. Dr. Higgins said her head was stuck on the side of my Uterus and she was 'very active' twisting and turning and they could not get her out! They were grunting and pulling.. and I could feel the pulling big time. My body was moving all over the place and it felt like someone was pulling out my insides! (No pain of course, just a strange pulling pressure) Everyone in the room started to seem panicked. Logan and I were just looking at each other in dis-belief. We couldn't believe this was happening. Extra NICU people came in and they warned me that when they did get her out they were going to have to immediately give her to the NICU. When they finally got her out (after four minutes) she looked lifeless. She did not cry... for awhile. We were so scared that she was not alive. My head was behind the curtain so I couldn't see anything. I just kept asking, 'Is she alive?' "Is she gonna be okay?" Her APGAR score was a 2 (very low!) but the NICU nurses brought her up to an 8 and she was fine! What a scary experience- especially considering she was a C-Section! We felt so much joy when we finally got to hold her in our arms. The first thing Logan said was that she looked like her brothers. A pretty girl version of course. :)
We are so in love with our Sadie May!

Amy Morgan came in and took pictures of Sadie's first bath, and the boys meeting her for the first time. This was about 2 hours after her birth.

The most Wonderful time of the year

Wesley came home with this countdown on December 1st. He was so good about taking one off everyday!
Christmas time is just the BEST! I got the boys these ELF Jammies from Target. Bentley wore his for almost the entire month. It rained everyday, and I was tired and pregnant... so why not just wear cute Jammies all day! I loved having my little elf by my side all day
everyday.
Sugar cookies were one of my favorite Christmas traditions when I was little. I love making them now although they are so time consuming. Bentley was helping me make them and his little hand looked so cute I had to snap a picture!
Baylor made this tree cookie. He was so proud of it he wouldn't ever eat it! I told him I'd take a picture so we could remember it forever!

We started a new tradition this year- the elf on the shelf. They boys named him "Elfie" So creative! haha. This was fun! Logan picked up this little scarf, hat and sock set at Target for our elf.

My front room is my favorite room in the house. Always clean and pretty. I come here to escape when I need a quiet moment. I snapped this picture while I was enjoying my quiet time :) We put a tree in here this year.

We attended the ward Christmas party/dinner. Santa was there. It was so sweet to watch the kids sit on his lap and make their requests. Baylor asked for the Killer Bee, Wesley and Bentley asked for the same thing "The scary Jack in the Box" that Dad showed them on the computer!
Baylor was looking forward to this all month. It is 2nd grade tradition at his school to make a candy train. They watched the Polar Express, made their own Polar Express books and made these awesome candy trains. He was SO proud of his train- as he should be. It was awesome! Wesley came home with gobbs of Christmas crafts and gifts too. We love their school and how festive they are. I went to the Christmas Carol sing-a-long assembly. All the teachers were dressed up and the Princple read them the night before Christmas and they all sang Christmas carols. As them loaded the buses the brass band from Camas High School played Christmas songs. It felt so old fashioned and festive.
Bentley and I took many cozy naps. Is there anything better then dozing off next to a Christmas tree???

I had my friend Lisa Forsyth make us this beautiful Christmas tree sign. I know I will enjoy this year after year!!! This was taken on
the Sunday before Christmas.
He will always be my baby BOY!

I had been wanting to go to Portland to see the tree and Santa all month. We were just waiting for a sunny, or at least non-rainy day. It never happened. In fact, this December was the rainiest month since 1996! It was so terribly rainy. It was BAD! On December 23rd I was feeling bummed that we never made it out.. so Logan said lets just go. At 7:00 PM (almost bedtime) we loaded the kids in the car and went. I'm SO GLAD WE DID! It was rainy... but oh well. The tree was so beautiful. Seeing Santa was so special and fun. The boys were well behaved... and they even ALL smiled in the Santa picture.. this was a first. Santa told them they all made it on the nice list.. so that was exciting! After seeing Santa at Macys we went to the square to see the tree and we went to Starbucks for hot chocolate and treats. It was so cozy in there! Then we went out to dinner. We went to Olive Garden. Never have we gone out to eat at 9:30 PM with our kids! They did great though. It was a fun night- one I will always remember!

Wesley Soccer

Cutest little soccer player ever! Wesley had a great second season of Soccer. He got better and better each game. We loved watching him play. We put him on the same team as last year- this time the name was 'Lightning Bazookas'... totally random! But kinda funny. Wesley liked saying the name.

Halloween

This year the boys all wanted to be Gremlins for Halloween. We found the ears at Comic Con, and then Logan and I made the costumes to go with it. No sewing involved- we just hot glued the fur to some sweats. They loved being Gremlins- and Logan and I loved it too they looked SO cute... like three stuffed animals walking around!
30 weeks pregnant

Lenny- It's hard to see in the picture but Logan made Baylor some big teeth!

Gizmo- the cutest little Gizmo EVER! Bentley said 'Me love being Gizmo because Gizmo is so cute!!' He told everyone for months in advance that this was what he was going to be for Halloween. He played the part well!
I absolutely love the boys' school. I love that they celebrate holidays and do fun festive parties. They are always doing fun holiday activities and crafts at school too.. which is so fun!
Cute little Daffy!

On the way to the party, the boys said they hoped they would win the costume contest. I told they they wouldn't because there were just too many kids. I didn't want them to expect to win. Turns out they did! There were six trophies and they were called up first! They were SO happy! They kept talking about how fun that was when their name was called to come up. It was a fun night!
