Baylor's 4th Birthday!

Baylor turned four on June 4th! This was the first year that he was SO excited for his Birthday. He has been talking about his 'Ninja Turtle/McQueen Birthday party' since December. I made him choose one theme and he chose Ninja Turtles. He doesn't have any of the movies, but he loves to look at Logan's old photo albums and Logan had a Ninja Turtle party when he was little, so Baylor wanted to follow in his footsteps :)

We made these mini pizza box invitations. I saw the idea on the internet and couldn't resist!
This turned out to be a fun theme to do. Of course we had to do a 'Pizza Party' since Ninja Turtles love pizza! We had Slime-aid (lime-aid) and I did the four ninja turtle colors in the cake.

One of Baylor's very favorite things to play is camping, so I found this cute idea to make a felt camping kit! I asked Lori (Grandma May) for some advice when I first started the project and she got excited and helped me do a lot of it... that was awesome! We also made little felt Graham crackers, marshmallows and chocolate bars for the Smore's.

And just for fun......

These are some pictures from Logan's Ninja Turtle Party:

Since I will have 3 boys I'm thinking this probably won't be the last Ninja Turtle party at our house!
Happy Birthday Baylor, I LOVE YOU!

Sunny Springtime

We have gotten a head start to our Summer this year because this Spring has been AMAZING! Of course we've had some rainy days but a lot of hot sunny days mixed in. So much better then last year! We have been eating way too many popsicles, playing in the dirt, chasing around the chickens and working in the yard.

Baylor's favorite chicken is Ruby. Whenever she is out he wants to hold her and carry her around. The poor chicken would probably rather we walking but she lets him do what he wants.
Baylor is constantly collecting leaves, grass and dirt and making 'Chicken food' that is his favorite thing to do outside.

Baylor found a little tree frog on our porch and he loved it. I used to love catching those when I was little.

Fathers and Sons Camp Out

Logan and Baylor attended the ward 'Fathers and Sons' Camp out. Even though he has only gone a couple times Baylor LOVES camping. He pretends to camp almost every day in his playroom. While they were packing for this trip Baylor was skipping around saying 'I'm so excited! I'm so excited!'

Kyle and Oliver came
Baylor was lucky to have lots of uncles and cousins on the camp out too. Next year Wesley will get to go for his first time!

Grandma Chapman

My Grandma Chapman passed away in April. It is so hard to believe that she is gone. I miss her so much. Her home was in Moses Lake where I was born. It was at her house where I experienced some of my very best childhood memories. I have so much to thank her for.

I probably could have left my kids home but I wanted to bring them to Moses Lake so that they could see my Grandparent's home. I'm so glad I brought them, and sadly regret not bringing them many times before. The boys loved the lake and to this day Baylor is still talking about 'Moses Lake'  almost daily.

The funeral service was wonderful. Of course funeral's are sad, but this one came with quite a few laughs as well. My Grandma was a hilarious lady, and everyone who knew her loved her. It really was a celebration of the life she lived.

 Me and my Grandpa Chapman.
My Grandparent's home was on Moses Lake. We would come visit a couple times a year. I still remember sleeping in the car but always waking up to the sound of the tires pulling onto the gravel driveway. It would always be late but we'd say hi anyways and then I would sneak into the fridge and get some homemade potato salad, or candy. As kids we had the best time every Summer rolling down the hill, playing in the sprinklers, climbing the waterfall (even though we weren't suppose to), swimming in the lake and riding around on the paddle boat. My Grandma loved treats and she ALWAYS had her kitchen stocked with huge jars filled with gummy worms, tootsie pops, juicy fruit and big red gum and Jelly Belly's. The freezer in the garage had an unlimited supply of Schwan push pops and ice cream sandwiches. My Grandma had a LOVE for garage sales, shopping and antiques. She loved everything girly and sparkly. She always had about a dozen sparkly rings on her fingers. Her home was filled with pink things, frills and porcelain dolls. As a little girl I was in heaven in her house and I wanted all that stuff! She would give me dolls for Christmas and I always loved that. My Grandma had a strong testimony and love for the Gospel and she talked about it nonstop. When I was 17 she took my family on a trip to the East Coast for a church history tour. It was an amazing experience that I am so grateful for.

As I look back on her life I realize how many things I have in common with my Grandma. I too love shopping, antiques, sparkly things, candy, the gospel and I too am a Mother of lots of BOYS! (She had four sons and then one daughter)

A few months before she passed I was able to go visit with my parents and Casey. She wasn't feeling well but was still fun to talk to and hang out with. We just hung out in her room and talked and laughed for hours. That was my last memory with my Grandma and it was a good one. I'm grateful that she is comfortable now and she is with her many loved ones that passed too soon.
I miss her so much but know I will see her again someday!

Tulip Fields

My Mom loves Tulips they are her favorite flowers. She treated me and the boys to lunch and then we went up to Woodland to see the Tulip fields. Of course they were absolutely gorgeous. My boys liked the flowers but they LOVED the mud in between the rows of flowers. Turns out little boys like mud more then flowers... who knew??

Wesley is 2!

My little Wesley turned 2 on April 14th. He was the cutest little birthday boy! It started out cold and cloudy but turned into a beautiful day! We went to IHop for lunch, then we went home and the boys rode their bikes. Wesley LOVES to play outside, of course… Afterwards he took a long nap. We BBQ'd for dinner and then had all the family over for a birthday party. We did a Batman theme because Wesley has followed after his brother, loving Batman. He got excited when I put on his shirt. He calls him 'Nanan"

Unlike Baylor at this age, Wesley is a skilled candle blower! He is a pro at blowing out candles!
Wesley was a stubborn little birthday boy. After we sang happy birthday and he blew out his candles I thought we’d open the gifts and then eat the cake. (That's how we always did it growing up) but he REFUSED to open his presents. We were all gathered around in the living room, but he wanted nothing to do with the presents... all he wanted was cake. So, we changed the plans, ate the cake and ice cream and then he enjoyed opening his presents. What a funny boy. I just love my little 2 year old!
